Trying to deal with the death of Spinner was anything but easy. It had sent Emma into a deep depression. One that caused her to lose custody of Caleb for two years. While Spike and Snake were granted custody of their grandson, Emma used that space of time to attend therapy and many other local groups that would help her get better. Over the course of two years in therapy, Emma came to terms with the passing of Spinner and eventually learned how to deal with it. Earning custody of her son back, Emma followed through with her plan of moving to Denver, Colorado. Her and her five year old son loved it there. Caleb made many friends as did Emma. Although, a few men had showed interest in her, Emma always ignored it and never returned the feelings since she was still hung up on Spinner.Until a year later, after having a little bit too much to drink at her neighbors party one night, Emma was involved in a one night stand that left her pregnant again. This time, she told the father but he decided that it would be best if he stayed out of the child’s life. Nine months later, Emma gave birth to her second son- Gavin James Nelson. Despite the fact that it’s a struggle sometimes, Emma loves being a single mother and devotes her whole life to her two sons. She is currently a kindergarten teacher after having earned her teaching diploma. When they find the time, Emma and her two sons fly back to Toronto to visit the Hogart family, the Nelson family, friends, the Mason family, and the graves of Spinner and Jimmy.
